Medically urgent cases will be triaged on the day by one of our GP’s.
Emergency appointments can be booked from 8:00am by telephone or in person. Appointment slots are allocated on a first come first served basis. This service is for conditions that cannot wait until the next available appointment, either they have happened overnight or an existing condition has worsened.
We recognise there is very high demand for appointments at the moment. GP numbers are diminishing nationally and locally. Most commonly a GP is not the best trained or placed health-care-professional to help you compared with other members of our extended team; who are more accessible.
By making the most of our extended healthcare team and services we can work together to make sure we provide the most for all our patients and to make appointment availability better.
Please consider seeing our Clinical Pharmacist who has expertise in minor ailments, chronic disease management and medications.
Our nursing team are well qualified to deal with minor ailments and chronic disease management.
We have an increasing team of physiotherapists, specialist mental health experts, social prescribers, health coaches and care co-ordinators
Many local pharmacies are open every day and you don’t need an appointment. If you can’t wait and urgently need to speak to a GP please call NHS 111 - you can visit 111.nhs.uk or call 111 if you don’t have online access, for help and advice, including booking you an appointment

A&E departments and 999 responders experience very high demand and are not always required. Many patients can be treated safely and comfortably elsewhere, meaning people who need to be seen urgently for life saving treatment can be seen quicker.
If you are feeling unwell and need urgent care there are a number of options for you to consider. It is important that you visit the right service for your needs.
If you feel unwell or have a minor injury, your local pharmacy can offer advice and some medicines. This can help you treat your condition yourself at home. Pharmacists can also help you see the right person, if you need to see someone else.
If you have a more serious illness, you should visit your GP practice website or NHS 111 online for advice. If you cannot access the internet, call 111 or your GP practice directly
A 999 call should only be used for life-threatening emergencies or serious injuries.
